Action Challenge

What is the Action Challenge?

The Education Team here at CPAWS in Calgary has been heading into classrooms to talk to students about conservation, science and the environment. Sometimes classes would ask us, “What can we do to help?” So … because YOU asked for it, we started the Action Challenge program. We’ve designed this web site for students and teachers who want to take positive action to help the environment.

What's in it for me?

Good question. If you sat back and watched TV, sure you’d know who wins Survivor, the name of TomKat’s baby, and the latest on the OC. But when you finally got up from that spot on the couch and walked out your front door, what would you see? Smog and pollution? Garbage and litter? No parks, no trees, no animals? Well, maybe that’s a bit dramatic. Point is … it’s up to YOU to make sure that Alberta remains a great, healthy place to live and play.

So … what’s in it for you? Your future, plain and simple. Oh yah, and FAME. All classes or individuals who take action will be profiled on our Awesome Action webpages – we post details and photos of projects to inspire others to take great action, too.

Think you’re up for the challenge? Browse through the other pages for tips to successful projects, links to great resources and much more to help you take positive action for the environment!
