Hikes
Guided Hikes in an Endangered Space (Grades 3-6)
Field Study/Guided Hike in Grizzly Country (Grades 7-12)
Take it outside and celebrate nature! Offer your students an exciting and inspirational break from the classroom with a full-day hike in the mountains or at a local park, as we explore the flora and fauna of a spectacular “endangered space” in classic grizzly bear habitat. Activities during the hike provide strong links to your curriculum and help students understand and appreciate habitat, conservation issues and wilderness values. The hikes are intended to be a celebration of nature and inspire students towards environmental stewardship.
CPAWS is an Approved Service Provider with the Calgary Board of Education. Hikes are available in October and April-June in the rain, snow, or shine. Please note that we only have a limited number of hiking dates available. Hikes costs $120 (Cdn) for one class or $200 (Cdn) for two classes.
Hikes are available to schools able to join us for a full day in:
Kananaskis Country - Yamnuska or Ribbon Creek Areas
Fish Creek Provincial Park - South Calgary
