CPAWS and Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) have created The Big Wild (www.thebigwild.ca) to engage Canadians who care about our wilderness in efforts to protect it – because public opinion matters. Please check out this pilot site and let us know what you think.

Canada is home to one of only three large-scale frontier forests left on earth. Many of the world’s most valuable – and vulnerable – wilderness regions are here.

Canada has the extraordinary opportunity to safeguard irreplaceable land, sea and freshwater ecosystems and wildlife that face potential obliteration in the face of climate change. Without wilderness and wildness, the fate of all human life is in peril.
