The Hoot and Howl is a newsletter specifically designed for CPAWS Calgary/Banff volunteers! The title refers to the communication tools of two wilderness icons: the owl and the wolf. In some Native American cultures, the owl represents “wisdom” and the wolf represents “teacher”. We think these are fitting representatives for this integral method of communicating to all of our volunteers who diligently work on conservation.
In recent years, our volunteer base has flourished. We currently have 275 active volunteers, including some who have been with us over 15 years and many newcomers. The Hoot and Howl is your official monthly resource for nearly everything you need to know about our dynamic volunteer program including volunteer workshops, conservation campaign updates and committee meetings as well as upcoming events, volunteer vacancies and more!
This communication tool is your publication! Send your “hoots and howls” to Lynda at hoot and howl.
